A General Session with a view

Media Stage was back on South Beach, this time at the Ritz-Carlton! Our crew produced full-scale AV for a General Session along with some additional ancillary support for a mid-sized group of staffing professionals. The venue boasted some great views of the Atlantic, so the attendees were treated to a very picturesque setting for two full days of meetings.

We had one day to load in and be show-ready for rehearsals by mid-afternoon, so our crew and truck arrived bright and early. Two rear projection screens flanked each side of the stage with Barco projectors positioned on scaffolding backstage using short-throw lenses.

Our lighting design was fairly simple for this show with general stage wash and uplighting for the drape line, and our audio complement was extensive. We programmed 13 channels of wireless mics for presenters in addition to both wired and wireless comms for the crew. Our A1 was very detailed in organizing mics based on the run of show and making use of all the breaks to get presenters ready for stage with their lavs.

The additional areas that we supported were a courtyard and Board of Directors meeting space. The courtyard hosted a live Q&A luncheon with a renowned author and a cocktail reception later in the day for which we brought in a small PA system. The Board of Directors meeting closed out the entire event as we flipped our GS room for the final day and installed 15 push-to-talk desk mics.

We are underway with a busy Spring season already, so stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes!
