Five shows in three months in Puerto Rico

As you’ve probably seen across our social media platforms, Media Stage has been very busy on the island to start 2024! We’ve produced AV for five different shows in Puerto Rico so far this year, the most recent of which was a multi-day event at the Wyndham Rio Mar.

For this show, we supported both indoor and outdoor functions for our client. We started out on the Vista Verde Lawn by installing a 20’ x 25’ sound stage underneath a roof, setting up a full line-array sound system and building dual hanging LED walls to display IMAG shots from our camera complement.

Those in attendance were very happy to be able to watch March Madness while overlooking the ocean thanks to having high resolution LED walls as display sources to put out ample image brightness. There was also an opening reception on this beachfront portion of the property.

Moving indoors, our audio team positioned another line-array PA system all of which was ground supported due to the venue’s rigging points not being sufficient to support the weight of all the speakers. We were able to rig our 48 lighting fixtures between traditional wash lights and movers for added effect.

The stage set was highlighted by two LED screens and two 9’ x 16’ front projection screens with the projectors being flown from the rig. There were meetings in the GS during the day followed by a lively awards show in the evening. A live band played walk-ons for presenters and winners while also treating the crowd to upbeat background music… so much so that, at one point, a conga-line of award winners danced their way across the stage!
