IDEA under the Arch
Greetings from St. Louis! Our crew recently worked a multi-day production for the 2024 IDEA (Information Display and Entertainment Association) Conference from the Marriott St. Louis Grand hotel. This conference is the only time throughout the year when the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA, MLS and minor league sports all come together to share their best “IDEAs” and creative processes!
We supplied full-scale AV for the General Session room in addition to seven breakouts throughout the conference, each of which had audio and video display support for presenters. The breakouts are all very important working sessions for the attendees as they are specific to different job categories, users and sports within the event production landscape.
Our General Session set was comprised of three rear projection screens, one to center the stage and one on each side of it. The screens were dressed with black pipe and drape and blue up-lighting consistent with the event theme colors. We built scaff towers backstage to support our 12,000-lumen projectors, each equipped with a short throw lens.
Our audio and stage wash lighting equipment was all ground supported which made both our load-in and strike schedules a bit more efficient. Outside of the ballroom, our crew was fortunate to get a chance to see some of the sights of St. Louis, and of course grab a selfie under the famous Arch!
This was our second straight year supporting AV for this conference; ‘thank you’ to Liz Burke Brown for trusting us again with this show and we’re already looking forward to next year in Boston!
