Live at Intercontinental!

That’s a wrap from Intercontinental Miami! Last week, our crew was busy locally for a four-day production between load-in, set, show and strike. The focal point of our General Session build was three high resolution LED walls, including a wide center screen and two outboards.

It took a full day to build the three walls with the two outboards measuring 16’5” x 9’10” and the center wall spanning 19’2.5” x 9’10”. We utilized two NovaStar processors to program the walls with signal going to our Acquilon switcher, for which we built several pre-sets of show looks including full screen, pips, etc.

Our lighting complement was very robust and flown from a center rig, which included different types of movers and our usual fixtures for stage wash. With three cameras on this show, we also had backlighting above the center LED wall affixed to crank-up towers. On each side of the stage, we placed Martin Sceptron tube fixtures that gave us a lot of flexibility to program different gradient and moving looks throughout the run of show.

Audio was ground supported with our main line array stacks on the floor near the stage. We also had PA in the foyer outside the ballroom for the cocktail reception that preceded the awards ceremony on the final show night. There were several additional entertainment and backline needs for this to support both a DJ and a live band. It was quite a celebration and a very lively night for all in attendance!
