Raise it into the rafters!

Let’s drop that puck! Media Stage was back on the ice with the Florida Panthers for multiple events leading up to the start of the new season as reigning Stanley Cup Champions.

First on the schedule was Media Day a few weeks ago which was held at their brand new practice facility. We built a multi-dimensional LED wall as the video backdrop and brought in a full complement of movers and effect lighting to capture gladiator camera shots. This was our seventh consecutive year providing the AV set for their Media Day.

Next up was the Champion Ring Ceremony, which brought a bit of a pivot due to the impending impacts of Hurricane Milton. The ceremony was intended to be a public event at the arena for which we built a full video, sound and lighting complement for those who would have been seated on the floor and in the lower bowl.

This event was cancelled, and the rings were distributed during a private ceremony for the team and their families on the same night. We struck our gear at the arena and ending up moving over some of the scenic and lighting enhancements on a smaller scale to dress their stage area.

And finally: Opening Night! We assisted the team for their pre-game show needs to highlight the raising of the Stanley Cup Champion banner. Similar to what we had in the players’ tunnel during the playoffs, we built two 5’ truss structures onto which we affixed Mac Quantums and Colorblaze lighting fixtures.

Because we were placing these directly onto the ice, we had to build them with wooden planks for quick positioning and removal. We also brought in CO2 cannons to fire off during the players’ entrance which made for some incredible camera shots both in-house and on the national broadcast!

We are so thankful for the continued partnership with Mike Masino, Dennis Docil and the entire crew at the Florida Panthers. It’s definitely been a fun year to be along for the ride!
