Sand In My Shoes honors local South Florida couple
The show may have occurred a bit later than originally scheduled due to Hurricane Milton, but Media Stage once again partnered with Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce on the annual Sand In My Shoes awards gala as we have done for more than 20 years.
The show was originally scheduled for October 9th but ended up being postponed to October 30th. Even though Miami wasn’t in the direct path of the storm, the Chamber wanted to be considerate of their fellow Floridians in other parts of the state.
Our crew had one full day to set and rehearse prior to show date to ensure we had ample time to load into the Bloom Ballroom. We had a standard video projection package along with stage wash, ambience lighting and a PA system positioned all around the room to accommodate 800 guests.
The Sand In My Shoes award celebrates locals who have dedicated their time, resources and passion to make a lasting impact in the South Florida community. This year’s award winners were Trish and Dan Bell. The Bells have spent years of service in Miami’s underserved, educational and medical organizations while generating millions of dollars in gifts to various cultural arts and religious institutions.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava was also in attendance and delivered some uplifting remarks to the audience highlighting the significance of the award and the Bell couple’s ongoing contributions. Congrats to the Chamber on hosting a spectacular event that we were honored to be a part of!
