South Florida comes together to honor fallen hero

Funeral with flowers and a photograph of fallen police officer

It was a day full of emotion at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise on Monday, November 1. Our team had the somber privilege of providing A/V for the funeral of Officer Yandy Chirino of the Hollywood Police Department.

More than 3,000 people attended – a direct reflection of how much he was respected within the community – including Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody and Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy.

We built a full stage dressed with drape and red, white and blue up-lighting effects. Two widescreens flanked each side of the stage onto which testimonials and videos to commemorate his life were projected. This content, all of which was very impactful, was also displayed on the arena’s jumbotron.

As multiple fellow officers gave eulogies, we provided an additional audio package so that these words could be heard clearly all throughout the lower bowl. Everyone from his force who spoke had one thing in common: they all referred to Officer Chirino as their brother.

From the many flowers, photos, school memorabilia, and even both his patrol car and personal car (a bright blue Jeep), it was fitting that many personal items were placed on or nearby the stage to showcase who he was beyond the line of duty.

Our crew who was present on site and our entire team at Media Stage wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Officer Chirino’s loved ones and endless gratitude for his service.
